Horizon 2020: EIHP stands out with a success rate of 23.5% on 81 applications

Ministry of Science and Education published the results of study on the participation of the Republic of Croatia in the Framework Program for Research and Innovation - Horizon 2020. The study refers to the implementation of the Horizon 2020 program from 2014 to the end of 2021 and analyzes the activities of Croatian applicants and applicants from other EU member states. Elements of the Horizon 2020 program implementation were investigated, as well as their impact on the national science and innovation system.

According to the study results, several institutions in the Republic of Croatia stand out in terms of the number of project applications and the success of contractual projects in relation to the number of project applications for the Horizon 2020 program.

When it comes to scientific organizations, Institute Ruđer Bošković and Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar (EIHP) stand out. The national average success rate for applications to the program is 13.7 per cent, and according to the study, EIHP stands out with a success rate of 23.5 per cent on 81 applications. For comparison, the overall average success rate of all EU member states (including the United Kingdom) is 15.5 per cent. Within the thematic priority 'Social challenges', EIHP is in second place in the group of scientific organizations regarding contracting success, with 20 projects in the amount of 1.9 million euros.
