This year, Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar celebrates three decades of its activity. In that period, the Institute stepped into the international market and more than 50 countries, where it generates a large part of its income. "The Institute went through numerous changes, but we always tried to follow trends in energy. Liberalizing energy markets brought adaptation to new market requirements, globalization opened new opportunities for cooperation and work on international projects, and accession to the EU facilitated cooperation on research projects with similar organizations in other member countries. The need to reduce CO2 emissions caused by the climate crisis and the energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine has brought new challenges and increased interest in energy efficiency, RES development and awareness of sustainable energy solutions. In short, we have gone through various changes. Still, sustainability, adaptation and internationalization are the key elements that have shaped today's business," said the director of the Institute Dražen Jakšić in an interview for the business weekly Lider.
The director of the Institute referred to the most important projects we realized during that period, the events that marked the Institute, the projects we are currently implementing, and the future direction of business.
