Building local partnerships for reducing the fossil energy demand of district heating systems in the Eastern Danube Region <\/p>\n

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The overall objective of REHEATEAST <\/a>is to find and promote catalytic measures and\nwidely adaptable solutions to the financial and environmental sustainability\nchallenges of district heating and cooling (DHC) systems in the Eastern Danube\nRegion, thus reducing the fossil energy demand while increasing the utilization of\nrenewable energy sources and waste heat. Through partnership building, knowledge-\nsharing, and collaboration among stakeholders, REHEATEAST focuses on upgrading\nboth supply and demand sides of DHC systems to enhance efficiency and decrease\ndependency on fossil fuels. The project fosters international, cross-sectoral, public-\nprivate cooperation to develop and implement applicable solutions, including process\nimprovements and adaptation of best practices. Furthermore, REHEATEAST will\nwork on formulating policy recommendations tailored to addressing common\nchallenges in DHC systems across the eastern Danube region. These\nrecommendations are designed to provide strategic guidance and support to\npolicymakers and stakeholders in implementing sustainable solutions and advancing\nbroader project objectives.<\/p>\n
