Vladislav Brki\u0107<\/strong>, Dean of RGN Faculty and President of HUGE - Topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The City of Zagreb extends above the geothermal reservoir, where at a depth of 700 to 1500 m, there is a geothermal water reservoir with a temperature of 80 degrees Celsius. The first research in the 1960s was related to attempts to find hydrocarbons, but the Stupnik-1 well uncovered a geothermal water deposit in 1964, which was tested in 1977. \n\n\nThe Mladost-1 well was drilled in 1980, while in the period from 1984 to 1988 it was drilled through the wells for the needs of the Clinical Hospital Center Novi Zagreb. Mla-2 and Mla-3 wells were drilled at the location of SRC Mladost in 1985 before the Universiade. A total of 15 wells were drilled. They all discovered a deposit of geothermal water in rocks made up of lithotomic limestones and dolomites. The wells were found to have significant opportunities for Zagreb to use geothermal energy.
