Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) launched a new solar power plant and battery storage tank project, and the plans and goals were presented at the initial conference held on Monday, July 3, 2023, in the FER premises. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference was opened by the vice dean for research and innovation, prof. Ph.D. Stjepan Bogdan<\/strong>\u00a0and representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of the Republic of Croatia and the Norwegian Embassy, on behalf of the program manager and donors. The representative of the Energy Institute Hrvoje Po\u017ear,\u00a0Sre\u0107ko Tamburovi\u0107 <\/strong>spoke about the good practices of the EGP program; he also pointed out the renovation of the building and the establishment of the nZEB training center, while the SOLAR FER project was presented in more detail by the prof. Ph.D. Tomislav Capuder<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project \"Photovoltaic system for the production of electricity for own needs in grid operation SE-FER-005 - Phase 11\", abbreviated name SOLAR FER, with a total value of 815,000 euros, was financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) 2014\u20132021 with the national co-financing of the Republic of Croatia in the amount of EUR 693,000.00 in grants under the \"Energy and Climate Change\" Program. The 600 kW solar power plant and battery tank will enable local production and consumption of more than 50 percent of the total energy needs of FER.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
