The rise in sea level is increasingly affecting the old part of the town of Cres, and this problem will likely become even more severe in the future. To study this topic from all aspects, the Island Development Agency, at the instigation of the City of Cres and with the support of the Cres County Port Authority and the Energy Institute Hrvoje Po\u017ear (EIHP), organized a scientific-expert meeting, \"Possibilities of defending the historic core of the city of Cres from storms of slowness and high tides,\" which took place on November 30, 2023 at the Moise Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the meeting, foreign experiences, studies, and solutions were presented. Top experts held interesting lectures that clarified what exactly happens when the sea level rises, how this phenomenon will develop, and proposed various measures to defend against \"high sea.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was concluded with a round table on the topic \"Potentials and obstacles for the implementation of a practical solution for the prevention of flooding in the Cres city core,\" which was moderated by EIHP researcher Ilja Drma\u010d<\/strong>.
