A special manual for employees of city administrations - SUNNY ROOFS OF CROATIAN CITIES<\/strong><\/a>, was presented on Wednesday, January 31, at an event held in the House of Europe, organized by the Association of Cities, ZGRADOna\u010delnik.hr and the Representation of the European Commission in Croatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The manual was created in co-authorship with the North-West Croatia Regional Energy Agency (REGEA), Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ) and in cooperation with the Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency (FZOEU), the Representation of the European Commission in Croatia and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The manual has 64 pages, and positive examples of Croatian cities that have installed solar power plants on their buildings are especially highlighted. All the expert collaborators of the manual gathered in one place and raised the content of this unique manual to a higher level through presentations and discussions. At the presentation, numerous experts spoke about the advantages, challenges, and solutions of solarizing the roofs of Croatian cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mayor of the City of Kri\u017eevci, Mario Rajn<\/strong> and Mislav Kirac<\/strong>, the energy cooperative ZEZ Sunce manager, presented successful projects that are working in Kri\u017eevci. At the panel discussion, the role of cities in decarbonization was discussed by Damir Mandi\u0107<\/strong>, the Mayor of the City of Karlovac; Darko Kasap<\/strong>Darko Kasap, the head of the Board for Spatial Planning and the Construction City of Zadar; Julije Domac<\/strong>, delegate of the Mayor of Zagreb and director of REGEA), Jasmin Mekanovi\u0107<\/strong>, manager of renewable energy projects, FZOEU, and Sre\u0107ko Tamburovi\u0107<\/strong>, senior researcher, Department for renewable energy sources, climate and environmental protection of the Energy Institute Hrvoje Po\u017ear (EIHP). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the benefits of solar power plants and the installation procedure, Tamburovi\u0107 also spoke about the Energy and Climate Change program, managed by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, while the program partner is EIHP. One of the program's focus areas is renewable energy sources, and special attention in the program's implementation in Croatia is focused on energy efficiency measures and support for using renewable energy sources, including geothermal energy, marine energy and energy from the Sun. It also followed on from projects implemented by EIHP, which are directly related to the topic, such as the project to establish a national nZEB training center, as part of which the office building of EIHP is being renovated, and the ZEB4ZEN project, which aims to transform historic centers into districts almost zero energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
