Reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the fight against climate change is one of the EU\u2019s priorities, with a logical focus on the sectors with the highest emissions, such as the cement industry. One of the technological solutions for decarbonization is the capture and permanent storage of CO2 through underground injection. A potential location for such an undertaking has been identified in Bockovac in eastern Croatia, which, in addition to the required storage volume for CO2, also has high temperatures suitable for the use of geothermal energy.

There is only one commercial CO2 storage project in Europe, located in Norway. However, Croatia already has more than 10 years of experience in CO2 injection at the Ivani\u0107 and \u017dutica oil fields!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
