Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar participated in the C4 Forum in Cavtat with four EU projects

The Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar participated in the C4 forum, held from May 20 to 23, 2025, in Cavtat, where it presented four projects it is currently implementing: ENSMOV Plus, streamSAVEplus, ENEFIRST Plus and SRIT2MARKET CROATIA.

The ENEFIRST Plus, ENSMOV Plus, and SEED MICAT projects joined forces and energized the participants of the C4E Forum before the official start at the pre-conference event: “Turning the New Energy Efficiency Directive into an Opportunity: Energy Efficiency as a Resource for Affordable Energy, Security, and Competitiveness.” Energy efficiency as a priority, ambitious energy reduction and savings targets, along with the multiple benefits of energy efficiency, were the subject of an engaging discussion. Although implementing the Energy Efficiency Directive presents a significant challenge, participants agreed that energy efficiency indeed represents an opportunity to achieve greater energy self-sufficiency in our communities, thereby increasing resilience. Synergy, rather than competition, between different policies is essential.

ENSMOV Plus and streamSAVEplus participated in the panel session “Implementation of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED): Obligation to Achieve Energy Savings and Corporate Energy Efficiency” as well as in the poster session. The poster can be viewed HERE.

ENEFIRST Plus participated in the panel session “The Evolving Role of Energy Efficiency in a Decarbonized Grid,” while the SRIT2MARKET CROATIA project took part in the panel session “Smart Readiness and Certification.”

The C4E Forum, held twice a year, is designed to build and strengthen the energy efficiency community in Central and Eastern Europe. The event was a key moment for knowledge exchange, featuring practical examples of policies and financing programs, as well as real-world renovation case studies to support the implementation of the EPBD and EED. Many other topics related to buildings were also addressed at the event, including the multiple benefits of building renovation (health, well-being, and indoor environmental quality), the role of cities and public buildings, energy poverty, digitalization and innovation, technical building systems, and more.
