New Methodologies for Measuring Energy Savings through the streamSAVE+ Project

The European project streamSAVE+, in which the Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar (EIHP) is a partner, is developing methodologies for calculating energy savings and promoting their transfer and adaptation to national circumstances for use in national systems for monitoring, measuring and verifying energy savings.

As part of the project, co-funded by the European Union's LIFE Programme, an online platform has been developed that enables users to estimate energy savings using European-level methodologies for various energy-efficiency measures.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Economy (MINGO), EIHP is contributing to efforts to improve Croatia's national system for measuring and verifying energy savings. As part of this process, existing project methodologies are being adapted to Croatian circumstances and the requirements of the national regulatory framework. This includes adjusting the descriptions of energy-efficiency measures and selecting the elements needed to calculate energy savings, such as formulas and reference values.

Changes to the national system for measuring and verifying energy savings will be discussed at the second national workshop, "Updates to the National Energy Savings Measurement and Verification System", which will take place online on 17 November 2026. EIHP and MINGO organise the workshop as part of the streamSAVE+ project. The workshop is intended for institutions and companies implementing energy efficiency measures, designers, energy performance assessors, and other professionals and stakeholders involved in planning, implementing, assessing, and verifying such measures.
