Dražen Jakšić, Director of the Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar, participated in the conference dedicated to renewable energy sources – Dani OIE 2025, which took place from 21 to 23 May 2025 in Split, organized by the Renewable Energy Sources of Croatia (OIEH).
The conference brought together around 400 participants from 19 countries, including representatives of 115 companies and 30 institutions, to discuss key energy transition topics, from the legislative framework and project financing to the integration of renewable sources into the grid and environmental protection.

The Director of the Institute held an introductory presentation, “The Role of RES in the Further Development of Energy in the Republic of Croatia”, in which he gave an overview of the current state and challenges in the development of RES in Croatia, as well as their key role in the transition towards climate neutrality by 2050. He outlined the broader context in which Croatia finds itself, emphasizing climate commitments to the EU and the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The conference was supported by the Ministry of the Economy, the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition, with the support of leading European and domestic institutions and organizations: the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, WindEurope, SolarPower Europe, and EIHP.
