From November 5 to 7, 2025, the 33rd traditional conference of the Croatian Association of Economists, titled "Economic Policy of Croatia in 2026," was held in Opatija. It is one of the most important Croatian professional and scientific gatherings in the field of economics, connecting the academic community, the business sector, and economic policymakers.
EIHP Director, Dražen Jakšić, also participated in the event, serving as a panellist alongside Miroslav Skalicki, a member of the Petrokemija Management Board, in a discussion on "Energy insecurity and economic resilience: How will Croatia survive global changes?" The panel addressed the key dilemmas of energy transition, security of supply, and sustainability, offering diverse views on the geopolitical and market implications of energy policies.

This year, the consultation brought together leading economic experts, scientists, representatives of the economy and decision-makers to jointly reflect on current economic challenges and on visions and strategies for the future of the Croatian economy.
