Dražen Jakšić, director of the Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar, participated in the first international conference dedicated to geothermal energy in Croatia - Geothermal Investment Forum Croatia 2025 (GIFC2025), which was held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in Zagreb. Alpheus Public Affairs organized the conference in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and partnership with the European Geothermal Energy Council.

The Institute Director participated as one of the panellists at a roundtable discussion on the role of geothermal energy in achieving climate goals. The discussion highlighted, among other things, the issue of financing, the importance of stakeholder engagement, as well as the importance of EU strategic assessments and strengthening initiatives such as the recently approved Clean Industry Agreement and the Affordable Energy Action Plan.

GIFC2025 provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences among key stakeholders to accelerate geothermal energy development in Croatia. It brought together more than 320 participants, leading experts, representatives of government, industry, financial institutions and academia from Croatia, Europe and the world.
