The Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar (EIHP) is participating as an associate partner in the international conference FiberWeek 2026, which will take place from May 5 to 7 in Postira on the island of Brač. EIHP is actively contributing to the program of the third day, which is entirely dedicated to energy infrastructure and its digital transformation.
The third day will be moderated by EIHP’s COO Maja Rajčić, and will open with a discussion featuring EIHP Director Dražen Jakšić on the topic “Do We Have Enough Energy?”
The focus of the third day includes topics such as the application of fiber optic technologies in network monitoring, the management of energy storage systems using artificial intelligence, and the growing energy role of data centers. Special emphasis is placed on real-time energy system management, relying on data and advanced analytical models.
The third day of FiberWeek clearly highlights the direction of modern energy development, where physical infrastructure and digital systems are increasingly intertwined. This integration contributes to improved management and maintenance of infrastructure while enhancing energy efficiency. In this context, FiberWeek is emerging as a relevant platform for understanding and shaping future relationships between the energy sector and digital infrastructure. EIHP’s participation further emphasizes the importance of an analytical approach in network development planning and in assessing the impacts of digital solutions on the operation of the power system.
Conference participants (electrical engineers) will earn continuing professional development (CPD) credits – a total of 9 academic hours, of which 6 hours relate to the professional field and 3 hours to technical regulation.
