Interreg Danube project entitled "Innovative model to support energy security and diversification in the Danube region by combining biomass energy with renewable energy surpluses" (acronym: DanuP-2-Gas; https://www.interreg-danube.eu/approved-projects/danup-2-gashas the main goal of exploiting the energy potential of biomass in the Danube region and exploiting it by adding the concept of energy storage from unused renewable energy sources (RES) (surplus in production). This concept connects the electricity and gas system, using renewable energy sources and electricity produced, with the aim of producing gas (biomethane) which can be more easily stored but also used in the gas system.
