On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the 31st annual awards ceremony of the “Hrvoje Požar” Foundation of the Croatian Energy Society was held at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
For innovations in the field of energy, the company Uprise was awarded for the STORM platform (an innovative software solution for the automated management and optimization of energy portfolios with electricity storage, developed to enable more efficient use of energy resources thanks to the application of advanced optimization algorithms, analytics and automated decision-making).
For the implemented project of rational energy management and for improving the quality of the environment related to energy facilities, the award went to HEP Toplinarstvo for the project ‘Revitalization of the hot water network in the city of Zagreb – Phase 1 and 2’, also one of the largest projects for the modernization of district heating systems in Croatia.
The Green Energy Cooperative (ZEZ) was awarded for its systematic public education on renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, citizen energy, and energy communities, transforming complex energy topics into understandable, practical information.
For their outstanding success in their studies of energy and energy specializations in the final year of undergraduate and graduate university studies Nikolina Buzić from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, and Roko Bošković from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb, were awarded, while for a particularly outstanding graduate thesis in the field of energy Ante Golić from FER was awarded for his thesis entitled ‘Market model of plants for the production of electricity and green hydrogen, taking into account different methods of modeling the efficiency curve of electrical insulators and fuel cells’.
For significant professional and scientific activity in the development of energy Ivo Čović from Končar was awarded.
