EIHP started implementing the new SPOWind project

The Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar started implementing the new INTERREG Euro-MED project SPOWind , which deals with the potential of offshore wind energy in the Mediterranean Sea, using a WebGIS tool for spatial planning of such interventions. This approach helps stakeholders make decisions about suitable locations and technologies. The project improves coordination for sustainable energy production through a central data centre and transnational cooperation.

The project started in March 2024. The consortium comprises eight experienced partners from Italy, Cyprus, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, and Portugal. The coordinator is the MOREnergy lab of the Polytechnic University of Turin.

Duration: January 2024 – March 2026 (27 months)
