The PAP/RAC & CREATE project team is organizing the third webinar of the Interreg CREATE project, which will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023, via the Zoom platform, at 11 a.m. The topic of this Thursday CREATivE Talks edition is dedicated to the importance of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for climate change adaptation planning.
NbS can be considered an 'umbrella' concept that encompasses a number of established nature-based solutions that contribute to climate change resilience and disaster risk reduction. Such solutions can reduce social and environmental vulnerability through multiple indirect benefits such as mitigating climate change, improving human health and well-being, employment opportunities, and creating new business opportunities.
The webinar is intended for cities, municipalities, counties, development agencies, economic entities operating on the coast and sea, the academic and civil sectors, and the media. The lecturers who will present their experiences of applying NbS in different coastal areas and urban environments are: Margaretha Breil from the Euro-Mediterranean Center for Climate Change (CMCC), Andrea Vitlov Kurtin from the Zadar County Development Agency (ZADRA Nova), Daniele Capitani from the Municipality Cervia and Ravenna, and Professor Silvana Di Sabatino from the University of Bologna.
The webinar will be held in Croatian and Italian, with simultaneous translation into Croatian, Italian, and English.
