"How to make a smart city as energy efficient as possible" is the name of the presentation that our researcher Maja Božičević Vrhovčak held at the conference "Bright future - 8th conference on energy efficient lighting, smart buildings and cities", organized by Energetika Marketing.
In addition to the basic information she gave about the work of EIHP and the Center for Competence of Smart Cities (CEKOM) - an innovation cluster established in Rijeka with the support of ESI funds, Božičević Vrhovčak emphasized the Smart City Energy & Environment project.
Namely, since 2020, CEKOM has been implementing six projects in the field of information and communication solutions to improve citizens' quality of life. As part of the project mentioned above, a solution for improving energy and environmental monitoring systems is being developed.
The main goal is to make the smart city as energy efficient as possible, relying on the data collected in the basic database. The developed solution enables the monitoring of energy consumption and energy efficiency indicators, as well as mutual comparison of cities or areas of a particular town. A multi-criteria algorithm was developed for planning the implementation of energy efficiency measures systematically and transparently.
The project holder is EIHP, and the partners are Elektrokovina Plus, Apsolon, SmartIS and Hrvatski telekom.
