The conference "Energy and Climate Challenges in the Republic of Croatia" was held on April 13 and 14 in Dubrovnik, organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, which has the role of Manager of the "Energy and Climate Change" Program, financed from the Financial of the EEA mechanism 2014-2021.
The conference focused on reducing CO2 emissions and on climate policy and environmental policy within the EEA and the Norwegian financial mechanism. Key speakers, representatives of energy institutions from the Republic of Croatia, the Kingdom of Norway and Iceland, as well as officials of cities and counties in Croatia where active work is being done to implement projects contracted as part of the "Energy and Climate Change" Program, spoke about this: Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Šime Erlić, Prefect of Dubrovnik-Neretva County Nikola Dobroslavić, Ambassador of Iceland to the Republic of Croatia Kristín Aðalbjörg ÁrnadóttirDeputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Croatia Homma Latif, Mayor of Dubrovnik Mato Franković, Mayor of Bjelovar Dario Hrebak, Head of the Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency Marijan Krpan, Director of the Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar Dražen Jakšić and many others.
The director of EIHP was the keynote speaker in the panel discussion "Decarbonization of cities and counties". With a short presentation , "Low-carbon development of the energy sector of the Republic of Croatia", during which he also presented the nZEB and ZEB4ZEN projects implemented by EIHP, he introduced a panel discussion in which the emphasis was placed on cities and the projects they implement, their cooperation and communication with citizens.
