Fifth "Thursday CREATIvE Talks" webinar

CREATE project team is organizing the fifth "Thursday CREATivE Talks" webinar of the Interreg CREATE project, which will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. via ZOOM. This webinar will discuss monitoring activities in the Adriatic Sea and the importance of assessing changes in environmental parameters for the development of climate change adaptation measures.

The Adriatic Sea is a unique sea basin for researching the potential of implementing the blue economy but, at the same time, an important center of the shipping and maritime industry. The assessment of the Adriatic Sea's welfare and productivity is based on its economic value and ecological status, which is described by abiotic and biotic variables. During the last decades, the environmental parameters of the Adriatic Sea have undergone significant changes due to multiple intensive human activities and the impact of climate change.

The upcoming webinar will focus on the latest developments in monitoring physical, hydrological and biological parameters, aiming to assess potential changes that will affect the Adriatic Sea in the near future.

The lecturers are Dubravka Rasol from the State Hydrometeorological Institute (DHMZ), Slavica Matijević from the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries Split (IOR), Fantina Madricardo from the National Research Council - Institute for Marine Science (CNR-ISMAR) and Alessandra Pugnetti (CNRISMAR). The moderator of the webinar is Davide Bonaldo (CNR-ISMAR).

The webinar will be held in Croatian and Italian, with simultaneous translation.
